A service wash, not a self-service laundromat
Most laundromats in Amsterdam are self-service: you sit there for a couple of hours. We work differently. You bring your laundry in, we sort it by colour and fabric, wash it at the right temperature, dry it and fold it, and you collect it ready to put away.
That is not only more convenient. We sort more carefully than a home machine allows, use detergent suited to the fabric and dry at temperatures that avoid shrinkage. Clothes last noticeably longer that way.
Many customers in Oud-West and De Baarsjes drop off on a fixed day each week. Tell us your preferences once and we keep them on file.

As a rule of thumb, anything that tolerates water and has a simple construction gets washed: cotton, linen, sportswear, bed linen, towels. Anything lined, structured or made of a delicate fibre goes to dry cleaning: suits, coats, silk, wool, cashmere, viscose.
Borderline cases are common. Some wool knits can be washed, but not all of them. A lined dress can look shrunk after a wash when in fact only the lining has pulled. Put it on the counter and we will tell you which route is safer.
